Enduring Achievement’s mission is to serve individuals of all ages with dyslexia, and academic needs through individualized, accountable, and ethical educational services. Dyslexia is defined by the International Dyslexia Association in 2002: Dyslexia is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and poor spelling and decoding abilities. These difficulties typically result from a deficit in the phonological component of language that is often is unexpected in relation to other cognitive abilities and the provision of effective classroom instruction. Secondary consequences may include problems in reading comprehension and reduced reading experience that can impede growth of vocabulary and background knowledge.
Dyslexia is likely to occur in five percent of school children and as much as twelve percent in the general population according to the International Dyslexia Association. Dyslexia is attributed to brain organization and is best treated through research based intensive multisensory, structural language approaches to instruction.
Enduring Achievement provides tutoring for individuals and small groups who are dyslexic or in need of academic tutoring to achieve at their greatest potential. Assessment services are available for monitoring progress and screening for dyslexia. Consulting and Public Speaking are available to organizations and institutions on topics relating to Dyslexia.
